Gambling Addiction Destroys Lives - Will it touch your family next?

StopGamblingUK is campaigning for:

1. Stopping the use of credit cards to pay for gambling transactions. (Petition One)
2. The establishment of a central database to hold details of individuals who voluntarily request that they wish to abstain from gambling. It should be a requirement of any gambling operator offering its services to UK residents to inspect that database before opening a new account and also a requirement that they inspect it at least quarterly thereafter. (Petition Two)

With the massive increase in the opportunities for gambling StopGamblingUK believes that the industry has a moral obligation to do more to prevent problem gamblers from accessing their facilities. Look at the Social Cost tab to understand the detrimental affect gambling addiction can have on society as a whole. 

The UK banks have a moral and legal obligation to lend money responsibly. Allowing credit cards to be used to pay for gambling transactions can hardly be viewed as responsible lending practise. View the banks tab for more information and a list of UK lenders that DON'T allow their credit cards to be used for gambling transactions.
